The Lady Lancer basketball team shut down the Patriots yesterday 42-26. After a close first half, the team came out firing third quarter and clinched the respected win.

Heading into competition against Parkway South, the Lancers may feel the pressure after a loss to the Patriots earlier this year. With a record of 23-3, Parkway South will prove to be tough competition for any team to handle.

Leading their team in a 12 game winning streak, South’s junior Brittany Thomas averages 14.9 points per game, while senior Becca Steins dominates defensively with 246 rebounds this year. With weapons on both sides of the court, the Lancers will have to shut down the Patriots’ powerhouse shooters and maintain control of the ball.

The game will begin on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7:15 p.m. at Marquette. On the other side of the bracket, Marquette will face off against Eureka to determine the teams for District finals.
