For the majority of high school athletes, their career ends after they graduate. The lucky few, who do sign, often score a scholarship with a Division II, Division III or NAIA school

However, this isn’t the case for varsity soccer player Jordan Woolums, who has verbally committed with Indiana University, a notable Division I school.

“My biggest accomplishment would have to be reaching my goal of getting to play college soccer at a high level,” she said.

Woolums currently has seven goals this season and a team-leading eight assists. For her freshmen and sophomore year, she played with her club team. This allowed for an opportunity to interact with colleges.

“I stayed and played with my club team and we went to several college showcases and that’s where the Indiana coach saw me,” she added.

For her remaining high school career, Woolums, a junior, has the stress of life after Lafayette off her back, and the ability to focus on being an asset to the team.

“It feels really good to be going to a D-1 school because I have college out of the way,” she finished.
