Two students selected to Adidas All-American Lacrosse Team

Two players from Lafayette, junior Andy Slocum and sophomore Lane Rommel, have been chosen to represent the Midwest on the Adidas All-American National Lacrosse Classic.

The tournament will take place July 5-8 in Germantown, MD. The tournament consists of the top 500 high school underclassmen which are divided into 20 regional teams.

SlocumĀ and Rommel have been selected to play as midfielders for the Midwest-St. Louis team. The team will be coached by Rockhurst High School Head Coach Jay Coleman and Ron Kelam of St. Louis University High.

Both coaches have experience in competition; the two coaches played each other for the State title in 2009.

If the team wins the Adidas National Lacrosse Classic, they will be then advance to the International Championship against Canada.
