iPhone loss sparks unnecessary controversy

When people lose their iPhones, it’s no big deal. When Apple loses their iPhone, the whole world goes crazy.
When an Apple engineer misplaced his prototype 4G iPhone at a bar, another person there picked up the valuable piece of technology and promptly sold it to Gizmodo, a company and website dedicated to dissecting and reviewing new gadgets and gear released to the general public.
Apple demanded retribution and thus the federal law enforcement swiftly went commando on the poor bar-goer’s house. Just like on TV.
Unfortunately, this didn’t stop the imminent and inevitable tide of spaz attacks across the country as people from all over the opinion spectrum commented on the whole debacle.
Most people agree that the person who had taken the iPhone was guilty of theft. Most people also agree that the person who had left the phone on the floor was guilty of idiocy. Some even went as far as to say that the whole thing was a marketing scheme to create publicity for Apple without spending millions of dollars in advertising.
Now, the big question is: who cares?
So we got to see a glimpse of the next iPhone. That’s not really going to change what it will be like once it comes out to the general public. People everywhere are debating whether or not the whole event was a hoax.
It didn’t take long until people started arguing the general value of the iPhone, Macs, and the Apple corporation itself.
Not long after that did the whole debate sink into name calling (Apphole pie, anyone?) where the over-righteous would claim superiority over everybody else, claiming that everyone who disagreed with them were idiots.
The real idiots are those who sunk into the nauseating mire of online hatred and contempt. Nobody is impressed by your “ability” to see the selfishness of Steve Jobs. And I really don’t see why this whole affair has anything to do with the ever-raging war between Macs and PCs.
It’s just a phone. You use it to call people. Get over yourselves.
