Friday, April 15 is Rockwood School District’s “Power of Purple” Day. All Rockwood students and staff are encouraged to wear purple to support Rockwood’s Relay for Life team.

The Relay for Life is an annual event that raises money to fight all types of cancer. Participants form teams and raise money for their teams to donate to the Relay for Life organization.

Since cancer never sleeps, Relay for Life will ask that each team have at least one participant on the track at all times. This overnight event will be held at Lafayette High School’s track from June 3-4 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

As a fundraiser for Rockwood’s Relay for Life team, a yard sale will be held April 16 at Rockwood Summit High School. Money from the sale of all items will go towards the team’s fundraising.
