It’s that time of year again when the Freshman have their annual Fish Dance.

The Freshman Fish Dance will be held this Saturday, Aug.21, in the Commons at 6 p.m.

Freshmen got their class T-shirts this week at lunch. The T-shirt serves as the ticket into the dance.

For the previous six years that the dance has been held it has been before the school year started. However, Assistant Principal Mandy Lewis changed it to the Saturday after school starts.

“Students need a chance to get to know each other and get acclimated to the school before the dance,” Lewis said.

Lewis plans for the Fish Dance to be a meet and greet.

“My hope is that students from private schools and students from outside of the state or District to get out there and meet new people.”

She continued, ” Even if it’s just one or two people, it’s still knowing someone.”
