For most college admissions, students must take the ACT. Traditionally, the test is held on a Saturday and costs examinees $32.

For the Class of 2012, however, the test will be free of charge to families.

On April 27, 2011, Rockwood high schools will hold the ACT for juniors during the regular school day.

The test will follow the regulation timeline, which includes 45 minutes for English, 60 minutes for mathematics, 35 minutes for the reading test and 35 minutes for the science test.

All juniors will automatically be registered for the test, so every member of the Class of 2012 will be taking the test.

Practice tests and preparation tips are available at www.actstudent.org for students to get ready for the test.
