This holiday, committed to the love of dance, was introduced in 1982 and created by the International Dance Committee (CID) of International Theatre Institute.
The celebration of the 2005 International Dance Day was primarily focused was on education; the CID reached out to dance studios and companies to contact the Ministry of Education for their support to encourage schools to acknowledge this day of dance as well.
Those supporters proposed that the Ministry urge schools to commemorate the day by writing essays and drawing pictures all focused on dance.
