Student Publications staffs earn top honors

On March 8, Student Publications staff members attended the Sponsors of School Publications Spring Conference at Webster University. There, students listened to guest speakers from professional area media and attended workshops to improve their journalism skills.

In addition, results from the annual contest were announced. Material from the 2009-2010 Image, 2009 Legend, and 2009 DVD Yearbook were submitted for review. Students from the all three publications staffs received a variety of awards. The awards are as follows:

In the Overall Division, the 2009 Legend received an Excellent rating, while both the 2009-2010 Image and 2009 DVD Yearbook received Superior ratings. In the on-site Senior Write-off Contest, senior Alexa Lipke was awarded a Superior rating and David Adams earned Best in Show honors.
