At the Jan. 28 Rockwood Board of Education meeting community and board members discussed possible cuts to the 2010-2011 budget.  They are working to cut $5 million from the budget.

The predicted budget cuts will change bus routes and people within one mile of the high schools will have to walk.

In addition, fewer Zero Hour and summer school courses will be offered. Driver Education classes will have only two teachers per class instead of three which will cut down on the number of students able to enroll in the course.

The board is also considering changing elementary P.E. from five days a week to four to reduce staff numbers.
